LADIES
SING THE BLUES Volume 6
Our 6th volume of our Ladies sing the blues series start with the (almost) complete work of Bea Booze (or Wea Bea Booze). Beatrice Booze was born 23 March
Singer
Ramona Hicks who recorded six nice
tracks in
Although Little Tiny Kennedy is generally confused with Tiny Kennedy, the male blues shouter who recorded for Trumpet (and even so in Blues Discography!), she is a good female singer of her own who seems to have been for a short time Tiny Bradshaw band's vocalist. She recorded only two tracks that are featured there.
At last we have the delicious Betty Lou DeMorrow. Her ten very bluesy tracks are witty double-entendre bawdy numbers that she recorded with Western Swing veteran and guitarist Dick Hartman under the band's name of Hartman's Heartbreakers. Betty was born Carrie Beatrice Clontz on 27 April Gérard

And thanks for your feedback
Many thanks Gerard, your interesting and informative collections of rare blues/R&B are always very much appreciated.
RépondreSupprimerThanks for the fine music you are making available. Would it be possible to respond the Ladies Song The Blues Vol 1 - 4 as these links don't seem to be working. Thanks.
RépondreSupprimerA lot of troubles nowadays with those links. Zippy won't work anymore, Mediafire is erratic at best... At that time we are not sure any of those links providers will still be available in the future. Anyway I'll try to re-up Ladies sing the blues Volumes 1-4 in a near future. Watch out this blog
SupprimerMany thanks
SupprimerThanks once again, Gerard, for bringing together the work of these fine though little known artists. I hadn't realised that Ramona Hicks was the same artist as Lillie Mae Kirkman.
RépondreSupprimerThanks for this series - I love this sort of music.
RépondreSupprimerThanks also for all your previous uploads. I haven't said it often enough!
Thanks so much for another great presentation. Betty Lou DeMorrow and Ramona Hicks are both new to me.
